This year I had the honor of celebrating the second marriage of a couple in their 60's. (So in love and just as nervous as the younger couples I work with.)
Just before the ceremony was to begin the groom pulled me aside to ask how “The Kiss” should go. I was at first surprised, as this was their second go round. But then I instantly realized this is a tender moment for everyone.
It is the beginning of a new life together, no matter the age. I can hear my mother when I was a teenager, “Kissing leads to other things”. I thought she was so old fashioned. And yet here it is, the wedding kiss, beginning a life together, sharing in a moment the love and commitment for each other.
I decided: a short kiss, a longer kiss and a short kiss. Respectful, intriguing and longing.
As a wedding planner I am given the opportunity to share in my Bride's most beautiful moments. The best is yet to come.
