I’ve seen a lot of viral posts lately of wedding couples running into celebrities on the street and then “photo-bombing” the shoot. It adds a fun dimension to a few of your photos, right? It’s a little unlikely to happen to my Missouri brides because we don’t have too many celebrities here, but a girl can dream! But if you’re NOT a cool celebrity, then DO NOT photo-bomb a newlywed couple’s photo shoot. Photographers are expensive and these people are trying to remember the biggest day of their lives. They don’t want to remember you! So if you’re a bystander, leave them alone.
What about at the wedding? Photo-bombing a few shots here and there as a guest is ok if it is appropriate and cute. But don’t make faces during an emotional speech and don’t make gestures when the photographer is trying to get a candid shot. Again, photographers are expensive and you want the bride and groom to have as many GOOD shots as they can. Most wedding moments can never get a re-shoot. If you’re making a funny face in every photo, suddenly the wedding album is about you and not the happy couple.
Maybe the married couple is silly and fun, but play it safe and save your photo-bomb face for another day. Just have fun and pretend there is no photographer. Let them do their job to keep the shots candid and sweet. You don’t want a call a few weeks down the line saying you ruined the photos! Just play it cool, pranksters.
